1928-33 TX 35/40 cwt

Introduction

The TX-type commercial was introduced in 1928 as a 30 cwt heavy duty truck, using a 11ft wheel base chassis and some design features of the Z Type including the Morris Z 15.9 hp engine. Only the rear wheels were braked.

For the 1931 season, the load capacity was increased to 35/40 cwt and a longer, 13ft wheelbase, chassis was also offered. Later in 1931, a larger 17.9 hp engine was fitted, this being a bored our variant of the Morris Z engine. A third chassis length of 14ft wheelbase was also added to the range. Only small numbers were produced throughout 1932-33 as it was out-sold by a further uprated variant, the TX2 model, which was being produced in parallel with the TX.
